Extractions and Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery is the dental specialty associated with teeth extractions (frequently wisdom teeth), dental implant placement, diagnosis and/or removal of pathology (disease) and realignment of the facial bones including the TMJ.  An Oral Surgeon is the specialist who usually performs these procedures.  The skill of an Oral Surgeon can have dramatic impact on the level of post operative comfort following oral surgery.  At The Center for Special Dentistry® (CSD) if you have four wisdom teeth that need removal we will typically recommend extracting them all at one time.

People who need the attention of an Oral Surgeon frequently have other related dental needs as well.  At The Center for Special Dentistry® our team approach to diagnosis and treatment planning provides patients the benefit of understanding the complete course of treatment before they begin oral surgery.  This team effort may require a little more time and cost for the patient up front but will typically reward them with a clearer understanding of treatment options before they start treatment.
